Over the past few months Chris Gourlay’s crowdfunding venture Spacehive has brokered several new and exciting partnerships; December will see them launch a new campaign in partnership with ATCM, the Association of Town Centre Management, and Mary Portas’s Town Teams. Spacehive and ATCM will use crowdfunding to pump investment and creativity into town centres across the country by supporting local enterprises.
Another collaboration, this time with Groundwork, a network of community environmental organisation, Capital Growth, a partnership initiative between London Food Link, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, and the Big Lottery’s Food Fund, will see Spacehive work toward creating community green spaces and food-growing projects across the capital. Indeed London seems to be embracing the concept of municipal crowdfunding, a new partnership with Design For London seeks to further embed Spacehive’s methodology across the city.
However, it is not just London that is benefiting from Spacehive’s crowdfunding capabilities, in the South West Spacehive are partnering up with Locality, the UK’s leading network for community-led organisations, to fit solar panels on public buildings.
