MyKindaCrowd secures ??200k investment in coup for the social investment sector

MyKindaCrowd provides a unique way of connecting students to the world of work through an online platform that allows businesses to set innovative challenges. It is already working successfully with major brands such as Fujitsu, McDonalds and Logica and has recently finalized partnerships with Cisco, Monster and RBS to name a few. Influential entrepreneurs such as James Caan have set challenges and key organizations such as UCAS and the Institute of Directors are partners.

The investment is the first foray into the social investment space for Horatio Investments – which backs innovative and interesting entrepreneurs and business models.

Will Akerman, Founder of MyKindaCrowd, said: “Investment comes at a pivotal moment for MyKindaCrowd. With month-on-month sales more than double business plan forecasts, this investment provides the cash-flow to  underpin rapidly scaling operations, and the imminent launch of our new SME service web-site. Getting to this point would not have been possible without our many supporters; individuals, companies, Government and UnLtd.  We’ve a very long way to go to achieve our mission of levelling the playing-field for all young people, connecting them with the world-of-work. We will make it happen!”

Horatio Investments commented:  “MyKindaCrowd’s unrivalled traction within education is testament to its world-changing proposition.  Already gaining  national recognition, MyKindaCrowd is sure to become one of our stand-out investments. With our support infrastructure we expect to accelerate the business plan, whilst delivering on William’s Social mission.”
